
Guidelines, Tasks, and Expectations
The Department of Languages and Regional Studies provides language classes in Arabic, Hebrew, Persian and Turkish. The language school enrolls between 200-300 students every quarter. Language Department interns would play a crucial role in the development, execution and promotion of the language classes. Interns in the language department should have experience working with people, capacity for multi-tasking and problem solving skills. Department interns would also need to be strong in both verbal and written communication.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
1) Accreditation & Policies
Drafting and editing evolving department policies to assist with expansion of accreditation status. Assist the Accreditation Manager with research and statistics for the Department.
2) Website
Contributions to and creative ideas for enhancing the quality and quantity of information available on the department website. Interns would be collecting data and information about teachers and students to compile for statistics and online profiles.
3) Course Support
Assist with set up for evening classes and be available to students and teachers to answer questions, register students for classes and sell books and materials.
4) Record Keeping
Interns would also assist with updating and maintaining department files and student records.
5) Marketing & Outreach
The Department interns would also be involved in creative marketing and outreach to develop and expand the language program. Interns will help create and present informational material to promote the language school in the area.
