Arabic Beginner I
NOTE: This class is held on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for 1 hour each. The course will end on October 30, 2020.

Prequisites for this course: Introduction to Arabic and/or basic understanding of Arabic alphabet.
Arabic Beginner Level 1 continues to develop a student's reading, writing, and speaking skills. Building on the foundation established in the previous level, Introduction to Arabic, this class covers chapters 3-5 of Al-Kitaab, Part 1. Content covered includes biographical information about self and family, cardinal and ordinal numbers, and use of question particles. This course focuses on conversational skills and gives students the opportunity to learn by interacting and using the language. By the end of this class, you will have mastered several basic grammatical concepts, including gender, interrogatives, noun plurals, the dual form, and the conjugation of present tense verbs. You will be able to communicate at a novice mid-level, according to the ACTFL scale.
